Portfolio > Text Constructs: Heavy Rocks / Plant Life

This work speaks to the transitory and regenerative nature of the materials of the land (and by extension the transitory nature of ourselves/humans as well), and how we can learn to ‘read’ the landscape to better understand and coexist with the land we are connected to and rely on. The forms of the landscape elements in the series are based on silhouettes of indigenous plants and rocks – with a focus on the commonplace but often under-noticed that have largely been erased in urbanized and developed landscapes.
